The company supports industrial and commercial customers with technologies that improve operational performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.Originally established through Voltex’s acquisition of Phambili Interface (Pty) Ltd in 2014, the business evolved from Electech Solutions to Electech Power Solutions (Pty) Ltd in 2022 following the renaming of EMS Invirotel Energy Management (Pty) Ltd.

Mgidlana

Managing Director

Luvuyo Mkululi Mgidlana is a South African business executive with extensive experience in leadership, operations, and corporate governance across the energy, infrastructure, and distribution sectors. He currently serves as Managing Director of Electech Power Solutions, where he is responsible for strategic direction and executive management of the business. 

Luvuyo has held senior executive and operational roles in established South African companies, including Chief Operating Officer and Director: Commercial & Operations positions at Plumblink (SA) (Pty) Ltd, a national distributor of plumbing, bathroom, and kitchenware products. His earlier career includes experience in internal audit and finance, having worked at organizations such as Momentum, Grant Thornton South Africa, and Shoprite Holdings. 

He has completed an MBA from Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and holds professional certification as a Certified Internal Auditor, reflecting a strong foundation in governance, risk management, and financial oversight.

Netshifhini

Head of Procurement

Matamela Netshifhini is the Head of Procurement at Electech Power Solutions, where she leads sourcing and procurement strategies across both local and international markets. She brings extensive experience in procurement, supply chain management, international trade, and logistics, with exposure to major FMCG environments.

Matamela has successfully managed imports from Europe and Asia, with a strong focus on supplier management, cost optimization, and landed cost control. She works closely with finance and operations teams to ensure efficient, compliant procurement processes. Her expertise also includes navigating complex international trade requirements, applying Incoterms, and driving strategic purchasing decisions that support sustainable business growth

With more than 10 years of HR Experience, Olwethu strategically overseas the full HR value-chain at Electech, including transformation, employee relations, workforce planning, learning & development, performance management, diversity & inclusion, organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. She is passionate about partnering with leaders to build high-performing teams, drive organisational effectiveness and create alignment across the business. With a people- centric approach, Olwethu champions a culture of care, inclusion and continuous growth, fostering an environment where employees feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive.

I have been proud to be part of the company for the past 16 years, a journey that has afforded me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I joined the business in 2009 as an Area Manager in our Durban branch before relocating to Cape Town in 2012 to establish and grow our presence in the Western Cape region. In 2017, I relocated to Johannesburg, where I continue my tenure as National Sales Manager. 

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to receive the trust and support of the organisation, enabling me to develop within the business and contribute to its continued success. The most rewarding aspect of my role is leading a talented, high-performing sales team whose commitment, resilience and customer-focused approach consistently deliver exceptional results in a competitive corporate environment.

Tsakane Baughan is the General Manager Finance at Electech Power Solutions, responsible for leading the company’s finance strategy, governance, and business performance initiatives. As a CA (SA) with extensive experience across finance leadership, operational management, and business transformation, she partners closely with executive leadership to support sustainable growth and strategic decision-making. 

Tsakane has a strong background in financial reporting, working capital management, risk and compliance, and driving operational efficiencies. She is particularly passionate about building high-performing teams and using financial insights to create long-term value for businesses and their stakeholders.

Throughout his career, he has successfully led teams, developed markets, and delivered innovative solutions across industrial, commercial, and utility sectors.

His broad technical knowledge, combined with strong commercial acumen, enables him to help customers improve efficiency, optimize energy usage, and embrace emerging technologies. Passionate about innovation and sustainability, Wes is dedicated to advancing smart energy, automation, and metering solutions that create long-term value for customers and stakeholders alike.

With over 15 years of experience in projects and operations management, I began my career in the retail sector before transitioning into the renewable energy industry. 

As General Manager of Projects and Operations at Electech Power Solutions (EPS), I oversee the successful delivery of turnkey solar and metering installations for commercial clients, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the business. My role focuses on leading high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring projects and operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

With more than 25 years of experience in the electrical, test and measurement industries, Brendan has built a distinguished career focused on business development, strategic sales and delivering technical solutions that help customers improve safety, efficiency and operational performance.

As the Regional Manager for Electech Power Solutions in the Western Cape, Brendan is responsible for leading regional operations, expanding the company’s market presence and strengthening customer partnerships across the region. Working closely with his team and customers, he is committed to delivering exceptional service, developing strategic opportunities and supporting customers with reliable, fit-for-purpose solutions.

Derrick
Ramphal

Head of Procurement

With more than 22 years of experience in the sales industry, Derrick Ramphal leads the KwaZulu-Natal branch of Electech Power Solutions with a strong focus on operational excellence, customer relationships and team performance.

As Regional Manager, Derrick oversees the day-to-day operations of the branch, including staff management, financial performance, sales strategy and budget oversight. Working closely with both customers and his team, he is committed to delivering exceptional service and building long-term partnerships that create value for every client.

Derrick believes that while competitive pricing is important, lasting business is built on trust and relationships. His customer-first approach has been the foundation of his career and continues to guide the way he leads his team.

Outside of work, Derrick enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, following sport, relaxing at the beach and enjoying a good hot curry. He approaches both his personal and professional life with gratitude and believes that every day presents an opportunity to learn, grow and make a positive impact.
